CSR Initiatives

Anbaram — the Wall of Kindness — is a public giving wall where kind-hearted citizens can leave clothes, blankets, school bags, footwear and grocery packets for anyone in need to take freely, with dignity. Under this initiative the District Administration will: • Install Wall of Kindness kits at two prominent locations in Chengalpattu district, each with built-in open shelves for displaying the donated items. • Purchase a cupboard at each location to securely store the items in reserve. • Provide CCTV surveillance at both locations for monitoring and to safeguard the facility. Total estimated cost: ₹1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only).

Removal of weeds, vegetation, water weeds and floating materials in the upstream reach of Neenjal Maduvu Anicut from L.S. 0 m to 5,500 m in Chengalpattu Taluk, Chengalpattu District. The work will use machinery to remove accumulated vegetation and floating material, convey the removed material, and dump it safely in a suitable low-lying area using poclain machinery, tippers and labourers. The work is intended to clear the upstream waterway, improve unobstructed flow towards the anicut and remove accumulated aquatic growth over the identified 5.5 km reach. Estimate amount: ₹30,00,000.
